Privacy Policy

Short version

1. Image processing

All compression and conversion happens locally in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly APIs. Your image files are:

• —Never uploaded to any server
• —Never stored on disk or in the cloud
• —Never shared with third parties
• —Processed in memory and discarded when you close the tab

2. Local storage

We use localStorage in your browser to track your daily usage count (how many files you've processed today). This data:

• —Stays on your device only
• —Contains only a count and a date — no file names, no content
• —Resets automatically every 24 hours
• —Can be cleared anytime via browser settings

3. Analytics

We may use anonymous, cookieless analytics (such as Plausible or similar) to understand aggregate traffic — e.g. how many people visit, which pages are popular. This data contains no personal identifiers and no image data.

4. Third-party services

PressImg loads fonts from Google Fonts (Space Grotesk, Inter). Google may log your IP address as part of serving these fonts — this is standard browser behavior for any webpage using Google Fonts. No other third-party services receive your data.

5. Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies. The only browser storage we use is localStorage for the daily usage counter described in section 2.

6. EXIF metadata

As a side effect of compression, EXIF metadata (GPS coordinates, camera model, timestamps) is automatically removed from compressed images. This protects your privacy when sharing compressed photos online.

7. Children

PressImg does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The service is a tool — it collects no personal information from anyone.
